Profhilo® is a highly concentrated injectable hyaluronic acid product which is used for the treatment of skin laxity and bioremodelling.  It stimulates the production of collagen and elastin which in turn has the effect of boosting and hydrating the skin and remodelling ageing and sagging tissue.

It is used either as a stand-alone treatment or in combination with other aesthetic treatments such as botox or volumising HA fillers, or to improve the quality of the skin prior to treatment with threads.

Profhilo® is mainly used on the face, but can also be used on the hands and neck.  It has an exceptional safety profile and high patient satisfaction, and it is provided as a 2-stage treatment with 1 month between sessions or as a single syringe treatment for regular maintenance.  It can be repeated every 3 months or as a further 2-stage treatment after 6 months.

Skin Laxity And Bioremodelling Treatment Information

Profhilo® counteracts skin laxity by remodelling collagen and elastin fibres. It has a dual mode of action; hydration and stimulation of the skin and support of the skin.

What this means is that skin will feel softer and more hydrated, and there will be an increase in thickness and tightening.

This treatment is most suitable for patients with mild skin laxity in the face, neck or hands, which will generally be patients over the age of 35. It can be used on any patient that is suitable for an HA filler.

This treatment is often used in conjunction with or prior to other treatments where specific areas of revolumisation are required with HA fillers.

It is especially helpful for managing fine lines around eyes, and early loss of cheek volume in younger patients without the need for revolumising HA fillers.

A consultation is required to assess suitability for this treatment as well as to go over the risks and benefits in detail.

Profhilo® as an excellent safety profile with minimal reported complications. It is effectively liquid hyaluronic acid with no chemical connectors.

The product is injected into anatomically safe areas and diffuses over a large area of the face. As a result there is a reduced number of injections than there is for typical skin-boosters meaning discomfort is reduced, as are the risks of complications.

There is minimal downtime with this treatment and you can return to normal activities straight away, with the usual caveats of not applying makeup over the injection points for 12 hours, avoiding exercise and swimming for 48 hours, and staying out of the sun and heat for 7 days.

As with any cosmetic treatment there may be some slight swelling, redness or bruising which will usually disappear within a few days.

Full aftercare instructions will be given to you as part of the consultation.
