Hello everyone! So I’m back to work this week after two fabulous weeks of fun in the sun with my family. We stayed in a camping site called “le Bois De Valmarie” which is on the outskirts of the small seaside town of Argeles Sur Mer, just south of Perpignan and on the med. The town and surrounding area is nestled nicely between the sea and the foothills of the Pyrenees about 30 mins drive from the Spanish border in the Catalan region.
The resort itself is made up of euro camp style static vans and has a fantastic swimming pool with 4 waterslides and two pools. Large enough to keep the children entertained and small enough so that we can always see where they are and what they are up to. With swimming every day the children’s confidence and ability improved dramatically over the fortnight. Days tend to blur into one and you forget timings, stresses and what day of the week it even is. We cooked fresh fish on the barbeque, ate out and went on some great day trips.
We got up very early one morning and drove 2 hours down across the Spanish border to Barcelona to see the Sagrada Familia and to take the cable car up to MontJuic. The views at the top were amazing and the children enjoyed seeing the large cannons at the top of the castle.
We also took a shark boat to another medieval town called Colliour. The children loved going on this boat and were thrilled to see the jet skis bombing around us and from my point of view, the scenery in that area is stunning.
The town of Colliour is beautiful and sympathetic to its original look with shops and cafes but the architecture is subtle and it still looks like a medieval town. The castle is great fun with dark passageways, high towers and lots to explore.
In the hot sunny climate I was very aware of looking after my skin, we all want to come home from holiday with a great tan to make our colleagues jealous but at the same time it is important to be aware of the harm the sun can do. At the practice we will soon be launching the Alumier skin care range. I have been using a few of the products and have started to see improvements already. They are medical grade and can help with rosacea, ageing, acne and many other skin complaints. Keep a look out for our launch date where you can come for a consultation and see how Alumier can improve and help care for your skin.
I hope you all enjoy the last week of the summer holidays! I’ll be back soon,
