if anyone read Jo’s blog a couple of weeks ago about her amazing family holiday, which I’m very jealous of from the pictures, she mentioned about the importance of skin care while on holiday and that we will be launching our new products from AlumierMD so I just wanted to talk a bit more about skincare! but firstly how lovely is it to hear form Amy about her baby journey and the very cute picture of Freddie, we are all missing her extremely and cant wait for the next visit for lots of cuddles =)
Me and my colleagues recently went on a 2 day course in London to learn more about the AlumierMD products and chemical peel process. I’m sure I’m not the only one that felt a bit overwhelmed with the amount information we absorbed over the 2 days – we all slept very well when we got home!
I know summer is technically over but did you know that:
- Sun damage or photoaging accounts for about 90% of the signs of skin aging.
- The most important information to look for on a sunscreen label is “Broad spectrum” protection which covers UVA and UVB rays.
- Sunscreen only protects up to 55% of free radicals (free radicals are caused by UV rays)
AlumierMD sunscreens are packed with different types of antioxidants for a full range of protection. Different antioxidants work via different mechanisms to neutralize damage.
On our 2nd day of training we got to practice on each other applying Chemical Peels so that we knew what out patients would experience, we even got to peel our hands =)
I definitely enjoyed having my hands massaged by both Marcie and Beth!
A chemical peel is a treatment used to improve skin texture and tone. an acid is applied to skin to lower the pH, which loosens the connections between dead skins cells, inducing exfoliation and stimulating new cell growth. this process causes superficial layers of dead skin to peel off, revealing a smoother and more radiant complexion. chemical peels can also thicken the epidermis, increase dermal volume and stimulate collagen.
If you are interested in finding our more about Chemical Peels or if you want to book in for a consultation, please contact the practice on 01635 40311 or firstname.lastname@example.org
I hope you all have a good week and look after you skin as well as your teeth =D
